Reacting To Looking Season 1 - Episode 3

Good morning beautiful people ❤️

Dropping back in this morning with the 3rd episode of our reactions to Looking! I have adjusted the volume so please let me know if it's okay for you all!

After a glorious 2 and a half weeks with Reiss I am settled back into working life and I am very happy to be back making content! There will, without a doubt, be extra content this week and I think you're going to love it. I will do my best to also get out a couple of extra bits of content for you all to make up for the past 2 weeks!

Anyway - looking forward to hearing your thoughts on todays episode.

Love, always ❤️

Ruth - talking of the Eurovision Song Contest, there is a very interesting interview with Terry Wogan who hosted the show for many years and gives his views on the constant annual debacle of the political voting of the contest. Here is the link to that short interview which looks like that it was held at an airport somewhere. It's very rare that Terry gave serious interviews at all, but this is one of those rare moments when he did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRKcV5IWehY

Michael

Yeah, I saw that footage you’re referring to, Michael and at least Omar can laugh about it now. 😏

Graham & Ruth May

Aha! It’s appeared now! That was odd..🤔

Graham & Ruth May

My daughter is unfortunately, not that easily persuadable, but anything for Omar..🫠😂

Graham & Ruth May

Thats strange I can see it on here.

Jayne Riley

Hi Audrey - I’ve seen sections of this video before. Poor Omar - it seems to be a millstone hanging around his neck. I remember the subject of that performance came up in a Swedish National broadcast with Edvin and Omar not long after YR S1 was released and it created much merriment between the interviewers, Edvin and Omar.

Michael

Interestingly, Jayne, I received your reply about my daughter by email but your reply doesn’t seem to be here on this page. 🤔

Graham & Ruth May

Yes he did do a video on Joe and Kit. He was spot on about Edvin and Omar he's very good at what he does. I ended up subscribing to his patron to watch his full reaction to the interview. You should definitely get your daughter on the case tell her he needs her expert help and she should do it for you🤣

Jayne Riley

Thanks, Jayne. Yeah, I have watched this and he’s spot on about them individually and together in my opinion. 🫠😊 He did a similar analysis of Joe and Kit, I believe, not long after season 1 came out, unless I am thinking of another communication skills coach. It’s probably still on YouTube. Glad to hear that Omar has a new PR team. I should get my daughter on the case, as she’s a PR executive. 🥰 What a job that would be! ❤️😍

Graham & Ruth May

I have heard a few seconds of it and it sounds really good. ❤️

Graham & Ruth May

Jackie you should definitely react to the Years and Years series even though you've already seen it. It's such a great series which so accurately predicts a lot of what's happening now in a slightly more dramatic way.

Jayne Riley

I agree with you Audrey I'm starting to like this series more. I feel like we're getting to know the characters better so we feel more invested in their stories.

Jayne Riley

I saw that he has tried to qualify 3 times. Once with F and O once in 2017 or 18 and last year. It's very hard to qualify in Sweden for Eurovision it's a huge competition. Some people said the voting app wasn't working so they couldn't vote for him. I love Eurovision and was trying to get tickets for it this year. I'm still going to Liverpool for a couple of days as it's only about 45 minutes to an hour away and my son lives there so I can stay with him.

Jayne Riley

Also he has a new PR team which hopefully will help him. There is a new youtube video of Max Bauemant the communications skills coach reacting to Omar and Edvin interview. Here is the link https://youtu.be/ilo4Uo3HeDo

Jayne Riley

I haven't spotted him in the video a lot of people seem to think they had him on zoom because he was away in Germany. By the way do you know Omar has a new song coming out on the 28th of April. You can presave it on Spotify and a few seconds of the song. It sounds really good. Here is the tiktok he made from the set to promote it. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMYnR3cm3/

Graham & Ruth May

It’s when the camera pans round the table in literally the last second, at the end of the table.

Graham & Ruth May

It’s just a glimpse but it’s definitely Omar. 🫠❤️

Graham & Ruth May

I must admit, i couldn't see him in it either, even after going back and watching the last frame i still can't see him! It finishes after Edvin says that the first episode is going to be WOW.

Audrey Gunn

Almost half the comments on this YouTube video are‘ Where’s Omar?’ But he is there, ❤️😊 in the last frame and was away making music until the last moment, I think. OMG, I am going to be a nervous wreck by the time season 3 actually drops, so all bets are off that I will actually still be sane after watching it. 😂

Graham & Ruth May

Yay! ❤️👑❤️

Graham & Ruth May

This just confirms why I never watch Eurovision! 🙄

Also, this sent me on an Omar hunt!! Did you know that he tried to qualify for Eurovision last year for Sweden with Moving Like That and he didn't even get past the first round 😮 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuSn1VVms6E

Audrey Gunn

Changing the subject for a minute, have you guys seen this video of Omar on a Swedish Talent show when he was younger?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIo20k-7u70

Audrey Gunn

Yes, it's easy watching and I'm enjoying it. I'm curious to know more, to see more. I like short takes on everyone every episode too.

Ingrid Machado Pena

I loved Angels in America, saw both parts a week apart in my local theatre. It's also the main reason I pay for National,Theatre at Home as well, so I could rewatch it ❤️

Audrey Gunn

I have yet to meet a gay man who doesn’t find Russell Tovey attractive, myself included. There’s just something inherently sexy about him. And I really liked him in the National production of Angels in America, which I saw when it was shown in movie theaters in the US. (Well, I saw Peristroika, since I had directed a production of it a year or two earlier.) He really is a fine addition to the show, as is Scott Bakula, who, in addition to his TV work, has some impressive musical theatre credits.

Lane Wright

I really like the quick cuts between the character lives. Short takes on everyone every episode.

Douglas Rayner

A bit of a spoiler (sorry) but I'm testing my memory. I think the older guy in the sauna ends up funding Dom's restaurant. Could be wrong. Oh, and Richie is not gone.

Dennis Verner

I enjoyed this episode more, too. Russell Tovey is definitely responsible for that. Also I think we are gradually getting more insight into the characters, although I am still not sure where it’s all going. The volume was fine this time, btw. Spent quite a bit of this episode laughing at your food cravings, though, Jackie. Is it the protein boost from eating meat or were you just extremely hungry when you filmed this? 😂

Graham & Ruth May

Looking forward to seeing this later. Excited about the extra content too! ❤️x

Graham & Ruth May

I actually liked this episode, don't know if it was because Russell Tovey has finally arrived or if I'm just starting to like the characters more. But definitely enjoyed this one more than the first episodes. Fun fact for you, the guy in the sauna/steam room was Scott Bakula, the guy who played Agent Pride in NCIS New Orleans (one of my favourite franchises, love them all)
