Reacting To Looking Season 1 - Episode 5

Good evening beautiful people,

Sorry it's a late one... Life has thrown some curveballs today that I've been dealing with. However, I LOVED this episode of Looking. It's starting to get SO good. Excited to see you in the comments as always!

Just read that Jonathan Groff has joined the cast of Doctor Who in a key role 😊 just another reason to go back to watching it, I gave up when Jodie Whittaker took over!

Just realised I hadn't watched this yet! Before I say anything Jackie, OMG, how have you never seen The Goonies?? It was my favourite film growing up 😊 You have to watch it 😁 Loved this episode, just two normal people spending the day together doing normal things and finding out stuff about each other. Can't wait to see how Russell is going to fit in to all this.

I really enjoyed this episode. As you said it just feels real. Ordinary people, living their lives. I like it! And I really like Richie so far! J Groff adorable as always.

Perfectly articulated. Sometimes these character episodes drive me insane but this one was so beautifully executed. Loving this show!

It honestly made my day. The whole area around the Sutro Baths blew my mind so I recognised it instantly. I would love that!

I thought this was a great episode. There’s a warm feeling about this relationship. Can’t help wondering how Russell Tovey is going to shake things up and I think now we’ve spent a whole episode with Richie, we’re possibly going to spend one with his character soon?

I like these kind of change-of-pace episodes that do something a little different from the rest of the episodes of the series. And this one focuses so much more on character than on plot, which is very refreshing. The only time I’ve been to San Francisco was 32 years ago, doing a tour that took us all over California, but I remember liking the Bay Area much more than I liked Los Angeles. So it’s always fun to see shows that are set in San Francisco, like this and like β€œTales of the City.”

Just after the release of this series, there was a interview with the actor who pays Richie. He's straight, and was really excites to get cast in that role, but he's from a very conservative Latino family (in SF I think). So he told his family a completely different story about his character the theme of the series. He's such a good actor, and I need to check him out on IMDB to see what other roles he gotten. And I hope his family is cool with his breakout job.

Congratulations on recognizing all those places in San Francisco. They must have had private access the Planetarium at the Museum of Science (a wonderful place to visit it is never not fully occupied). I hope you and Reiss get to SF again soon. Mark and I can show you around.
