Hello and Welcome back to Cinema Rules! Today we're watching a much loved film, a film that is soon to be re-made however after watching this, do we think it should be left alone?? or there a good reason for a remake?

So part of the reason for the look of the film and probably why you feel it reminds you of Batman and Gotham is because this is made from the the comic book of the same name. The movie has a very comic book superhero feel in my opinion. There's never been any admission that it influenced other Batman movies, but I also see so many similarities. Yes it is so sad that Brandon lost his life during the filming when a prop gun malfunctioned and he was shot in the head. The dedication at the end is to not only him but his fiance. His death is also partly responsible for why there is such a cult following for this movie also. There were several sequels to this movie but none came close to comparing in this ones feel or success. There is currently a film in the works that will star Bill Skarsgard as the Crow. I really think you need to watch the movie DARK CITY. The directors cut is the one you want to watch. It was a big influence on the Matrix films.

I remember watching this when it first came out and absolutely loving it. I give it an 8.6/10. So glad you guys enjoyed it. Brandon Lee is brilliant in this. Every time I watch it, I think of all the great films Brandon could have made were he still alive. Still so sad.
