This is one of my favourite episodes. I think it was really important for Nick to find a group of amazing queer friends outside of his relationship with Charlie. The thing about surrounding yourself with safe people is that it's going to be safe for you to tell them and you have that support and respect. I love the exploration of Nick's bisexuality and the development of the Tara and Darcy relationship. They're going through the same thing just a few steps ahead, while Nick and Charlie are still making their way there. I love how Nick tells Elle. And then Elle outs Charlie's intense pining. Apart from our Aro Ace Isaac who interrupted that cute moment, Nick has been the one telling everyone. Charlie has not told anyone, the only one he does tell is Tori.

Tara and Darcy are giving Nick queer friends he can talk to honestly, without having to guard his words. That is so important. When I was coming out it was so precious for me to have gay friends I could talk to freely but who I was NOT romantically involved with. And Tara asks him, “Does it feel good to have told someone?” To his surprise, Nice realizes it does, it really does. You can see it in his face. Also so important. When I was in those early stages, every time I told someone it felt like there was suddenly more oxygen in the room. Because I was breathing a little more freely.

I always feel that this is a really uplifting and cheering episode, which somehow makes the next episode, Bully, even more difficult to watch. When you see Charlie’s experiences with Ben and all the negative reinforcement of the bullying he’s already suffered as well as the trauma in the episode, it’s no wonder that he has to ask Nick if they’re really boyfriends in episode 8.

I can give you some information about Courtney: he just recently posted a video in Patreon and said he’s going to be back into making and posting videos, which I was glad to hear. Also, he did reactions to the first two episodes of the second season of Young Royals, and I’m hoping that now he will go back and do the last four. Yes, this is a delightful episode for multiple reasons, including what we see with Tara and Darcy. One more thing: I mentioned this on Twitter, but in case you didn’t see it, it turns out I know the playwright who wrote the play that Tobie is in rehearsal for in London. How cool is that?

My favorite moment in this episode is them all running down the corridor after Tara and Darcy‘s talk. Cause they were running in the LGBT order 🏳️‍🌈♥️
