2023-07-21 09:31:11 +0000 UTCAh, yes, this is also the episode that established The August Hate Club! I had kind of forgotten that. I love everything about this episode and now we’ve seen season 2 as well, I am belatedly realising that there’s an underlying musical motif for Wille and Simon’s beautiful intimate scenes. I noticed it here first and it’s definitely there in the Valentines Ball scene in season 2 episode 4 before Simon breaks off to run back to the choir. One thing that I disagree with you about is that Wille is to-ing and fro-ing on Simon and that Simon is the only one potentially being hurt. It seems to me that Wille is in absolute agony and paying over and over again with his mental health, caught in a struggle between his sense of duty to his family, his brother’s legacy and his love for Simon and all that represents.. and he really is in love by this episode, even though he hasn’t declared it yet. As you frequently say, ‘This show!’ 🙃
