Today we are jumping back in to Mary & George and we are getting sooooo close to the finale of the incredible show and I'm starting to get sad that it's ending!

I agree with the time jumps thing. I wish there was a bit more of a bridge between episodes 5 and 6 especially since there's a significant tonal shift in the last two episodes. But other than that, I've been absolutely hooked on the show! The writing is spectacular and all of the acting performances are phenomenal.

There's a wide shot from above of the two of them standing together with Bacon at the start and they're even wearing the same shoes.

2024-04-05 16:33:04 +0000 UTCJames in the show and irl was such a complex character. he grew up with no love and surrounded by violence and it certainly shows. I don't think he knew how to be a father so that is why he seems to not care about Charles. he is often erratic in his behavior but underlying is just a constant search and want to be loved. he isn't dumb and was certainly wise (his politics might not have been popular in the 1600s but in modern days a no war approach is certainly commendable) but he lets himself be ruled to some degree by the men he loves.
