A wonderful conversation. I agree the sex scene in RW &RB was wonderful. Also when comparing how Alex was described in the book to that in the movie he was a much more complex character in the book. Certainly Taylor held his own and did a wonderful job but the dramatic focus was plainly on Nick. I feel in a way Taylor made Nicks performance work so beautifully because he was so Authentic and generous,

Another great conversation between you and Courtney! I agree about how terrific the sex scene was in our RWRB, and I wonder how much of that was due to the director/screenwriter being a gay man. And I see your point about Alex’s journey being given short shrift in the movie, even though it’s not something I would’ve noticed unless I had read the book first. As was true with the first conversation, where you talked about your coming out experiences, I have heard Courtney talk about his before, but there’s something nice about hearing it told to someone else as part of a conversation.
