Ruby blinked. She had just been in an elevator when her surroundings changed. Yellow carpet and walls with yellow wallpaper filled her vision as fluorescent lights buzzed overhead. None of this made sense.

She eventually looked over her shoulder. Her friends were gone, and the hallway extended off in that direction. Every few feet, there was an opening. Ruby looked through these only to see more of the same. Rooms of varying sizes with the same carpet and wallpaper. Some were longer hallways, some were dead ends, and eventually, it opened up into a greater maze. Now, she could see the occasional pillar and dozens of hallways that branched in all directions.

Weiss and Ruby had returned to the central area. They stayed quiet momentarily, just in case they could pick up any sounds. Unfortunately, they only heard the buzzing lights.

"We can't just wander aimlessly. It would be nice if I had something to mark our path.” Weiss murmured and rubbed her chin.

Ruby nodded. Their surroundings were an infinite maze, so going about without a plan was the worst thing to do. That was when Ruby started sniffing the air. Relying on sound wasn't possible for them. However, smells seem to travel well here. She took deep breaths and picked up a sweet scent. Without saying anything, she grabbed Weiss's hand and followed the scent.
