Concept Art and WIPs!

Hello friends!

Lately I have struggled a bit to find a balance between working on the Patreon overhaul, working on Moonshell Island and Santria assets, the Cheekynauts website and content, and a lot of personal life stuff. While I have shared some progress on our Discord server, I haven't been posting as much here as I should. Here are some concepts I've been doing and the WIPs for the game assets I'm working on!

On my recent trip, I found a necklace in Prague which inspired me a lot to have a moon shell ocarina necklace with special powers in the game. Of course, I also bought the necklace for myself, and I quite love it, even if it's not exactly what I have in mind for the one in Moonshell Island. 

The downtime also refreshed my creativity and I felt inspired to make the tiki hut design a bit more interesting and based on the island I grew up on, where driftwood was used in architectural elements, furniture and sculptures. 

I also had the idea for a special kind of tree with glowing fruit that would play a part in unlocking the secret path to the center of a dense forest, where the mother tree stands. I started on the sprite for these trees, but it still needs a lot of work.

While I was designing the latest character for Santria, Mirabelle, I tried a couple different concepts. While I did share the concept we went with, now you can see the option we didn't go with too! I am quite happy with how the portrait has turned out!

Schotti and I are very excited for the upcoming Patreon overhaul, and we are working hard to make this the best we can. Our hope is to bring our awesome community (you guys) the game-related content you want to see and to share our journey with you. 

We want to extend our sincerest thanks for being so patient with us when we aren't as actively sharing content, and for all the support you've shown. This is a long road we are on, but it sure is a nice trip with such great friends along for the ride.
