Send a message to Google Home even in the background and with the screen off
Added 2018-12-20 16:41:13 +0000 UTCThere were previously other ways of sending messages to your Google Home, but these required your phone's screen to be on and unlocked.
Check out an example of that here.
Granted that the with the AutoInput method above you were able to send any command to your Google Assistant, if you're only interested in sending messages to your Google Home, this new method has it beat!
This uses the new feature on your Google Home that allows you to reply to broadcasts from it, which in turn creates a notification on your phone.
We then use that notification to be able to send messages at will back to your Google Home! :)
