2024-05-28 20:11:19 +0000 UTCI watched Ateez’s segment again and suspect that what hurt them was the overemphasis on what their fans wanted. They were judged harshly by the experts/judges who were perhaps expecting those insane flashy performances from the first two rounds. But as a fan, their performance in this round was the most moving. Jongho tossed away the crown and i see it as them throwing away expectations of the show (the ‘Kingdom’) and sticking to what feels genuine to them. Throughout their career, they’ve never followed trends but they know who they are and stick to it. Its very admirable.
