Flexi Shark Update

Small update.

After printing a little shark, I noticed that the fins were a little stuck and I had to work them free.

This update fixes that. I also updated the multicolor files.

Thanks again

anyway i can buy this STL?

Mark Fisch

how can i get the file for this model? I just joined aonly for this model

I have used painters tape. works well for me also, when i need a cool bed. will get caught up in my print when using a hot bed though.

Never tried this. Very interesting technique

Dan

I have flash forge 3 printer, ender printer pro and ender printer plus and have found green painter tape in a single layer that you rub with an alcohol wipe before first print to be the best item ever to use to help with any plan sticking to the base plate. Have any of you every tried this method with the Bambu printer? I would love to know if it works on more high end printers and if anyone else uses this method to help prints stick to their print bed.

If I use my cool plate, I just spray a very quick burst of hairspray on the plate. My go to is the high temperature plate. No need for hairspray or glue. Prints are smooth on the bottom.

Chantal

The new bambu liquid adhesive works really well. Goes on easily and very even. Only problem is it tends to flake when part is removed. You can add some between parts to keep cool plate fully covered. I’ve been washing off completely ever 3-4 prints

I use .16 or .2 when I do multicolor just because I don't like too much waste, and don't want to wait as long. When I am doing a single color to photograph I usually use .12. I also change to 3 walls and no brim. I will sometimes slow down the outer wall to make it shiny. But I really just use the standard settings, Currently printing in silver and multi red silk for a 175 shark. It's running right at 220 during the printing process, fluctuates when it changes colors to purge. But again, I will freely mix standard and silk filaments in the same print.

Dan

what temp and speed do you use when using silk on your bambu?

Kathy tran

Thank you Dan. That is a great relief because I want to print the shark in a few different dual folk silk filaments as soon as possible.

Dave DeWitt

The settings do not transfer with the painted 3mf files unfortunately. They have to be manually adjusted for your specific machine and materials. I can only speak to my experience with the Bambu X1Carbon, but I print in silks most often and never changed the materials setting to anything other than basic pla. I do manually adjust the layer height to .12 or .16 , adjust to 3 walls, and turn off brim.

Dan

The one thing I've found with my X1CC is if you use the cool plate for pla, you need to use the glue stick or something else, and silk will stick way too hard and potentially damage the sheet. I've been using vision miners nano adhesive on the cool sheet and it works well. Smooth bottom and I've run 7 plus parts without adding more

Dan - I opened the Bambu .3mf file in Bambu Slicer. Are the Quality, Strength, Speed, Support and Others settings what you usually use for Silk Filaments. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to use Silk filaments on the Bambu. On my Prusa MK3's and Mini's I don't make any changes from standard to silk filaments and they seem to print just fine. I've seen a lot of warnings on Twitter and FB not to print silk at the same settings as generic PLA on the Bambu X1C. As always - Thanks for amazing models!

Dave DeWitt

thank you! excited to print this!

Caitlyn Lund

15% is what I use.

Dan

what's the best infill settings to print with on flexifactory things?

mark winter

Correct. You can tell by the size of the half sphere that one is smaller. It has a looser fit.

Dan

in the new updated version with the two heads, is one the looser and one the tighter? I cant see a difference but assumed there might be

Caitlyn Lund

only thing i had noticed is a little flaw when i printed the head. it was inside the eyes. which when printing would be the top but when its put together is the bottom of the inside. and yes i edited because what i meant to type obviously isn't what came out lol

25 % printed up great. You were right they did stick a bit but not to bad. Thanks for the up grade. The design is awesome.

Mark Tuttle

OK, sounds like my overnight print tonight or tomorrow. I promised a plate of something else tonight, but might not be able to resist this.

Allen Smith

Prints amazing. Scaling up to 150 on P1P for second print.

If I was smarter, I'd have remembered to add a fidget bolt or infinity cube but nope, I totally forgot. It was at 25% when I remembered...I was excited to print it, what can I say. :). I plated mine with the 3MF file for the Bambu and just increased the size from 100 to 125.
