JINJER Mini Mix REACTION!

Comments

Happy BDay Gonzo. I think I’d agree with Jersh’s top 2 the first song was the catchiest flow with the outlander as a runner up and the last song had its moments too. As for order of music or lyrics first when songwriting it’s interesting how it can be subjective for different artists how they find it works well for them and what they bring to it kinda thing. Anyways as you said it was cool to see a bit more material from further back from them.

This was fun to just go back and sample Jinjer's early work. Jersh has heard 90% of the 2019-present tracks. While there's a distinct difference between early Jinjer and what they've become, they still sound like themselves. But the best of the beast has really been fully formed since the arrival of Vlad. The earlier albums actually contain tracks like "Who is Gonna Be the One", "I Speak Astronomy" and "Pisces" that Jersh has heard. My two favorites from the mix are easily "Outlander" and "Just Another". Both are mixed into my regular listening. As far as the question Jersh asked about Jinjer's writing/creative process...I feel like I've touched on this a little in one of my previous comments, but maybe not? From the interviews I've seen, mainly of Tatiana and Eugene, all but the first album involved the boys sort of getting ideas during their own creative processes and then coming together as a three-piece instrumental to hash out arrangements and record some raw demos. Once they like it, they give the instrumental demos to Tati and give her a deadline before the studio recordings begin. She literally listens and writes lyrics, comes up with vocal lines, and decides when to use harsh vs. melodic vocals in the span of a few weeks. Most times, she admits, there is horrible procrastination involved, and she normally finishes under excessive stress just in time lol. But maybe that's part of the magic? I think it's amazing that someone for whom English is their second language expresses their ideas so uniquely and poetically. Of course she has brilliant musicians to work with and I believe they still bounce ideas off each other while finalizing during recording sessions. Thanks for this one Jersh! It's been a great birthday.
