THE TARRASQUE

A beast that was abandoned as a hatchling and was never taught dragon knowledge; to “civilized” WYRMS it would be considered a savage fit for slaughter. When a Holy woman discovered the Tarrasque terrorizing a frankish village she was able to subdue it with divine speech and make it (mostly) docile to the human population.
Since then the Holy Woman has used the Tarrasque to protect human towns and kingdoms from other WYRM incursions but they receive little gratitude for their efforts. In fact both the human faiths and WYRM Royalty have bounties out for the feral WYRM and the “heretic wytch” who controls it.
TARR is one of the few "good" WYRMS who fight against their own kind's tyranny. The Tarrasque is depicted in myth as a kind of lion turtle at times so i wanted to weave that into my version, the armor plated scales on his neck can flair out to look like a lion's mane. I'm still not sure when I want to introduce him and the holy woman into WYRM but he's one of my strongest designs and he ranks high on my personal dragon list.
