Before the Infernal steel could cut through waves of wolves decisively the battlefield was gouged and hundreds of armor were swallowed up by the ground itself. The entire trench war program had been a contained battlefield scenario the Infernal Conglomerate had used to train Demon War-strains (in these scenarios specifically Hessians) but this had been an unequivocal deviation of the core program. The battlefield demon-data had been altered by CANIS intelligence.
The battle was halted and many Hessians were lost in the deep down surrounded and cut off from any reinforcements. In the deep tunnels the remaining Hessians fought their way through the GARM nests but were forced deeper.
