Warmup Sketches | Summer-1
Added 2018-08-01 19:42:08 +0000 UTCWell, these are more like a 'a day of focused' sketches rather than warmup-type. July's been full of productive work on 'Unforseen...', other client comics, series and single images.
To know exacly what I'm drawing, what a particular bulge, crease or outline is, I erased and re-drew way more than usual. Now, it feels like I understand a lot of things better, especially boobs. The focus is on how the fleshy tissue presses outwards, and produces a part of the complex curve of a boob. It all depends so much on the qualities of the breast, whether it's floppy and marshmallow-like, or dense and springy. I want to become better at showing these qualities with as little as possible, hopefully just lineart and minimal shading.
Also included is a 'warm-down' fun copying of smug manga faces. Sometimes drawing bug-eyed characters for a bit brings freshness to the arsenal of facial expressions.
