Another thought for another skill is using water bending for flight as a lot of times in the anime you see water just being lifted up in the air and defying gravity. So if he could solidify the water ride it through the air he'd have air travel. Of course this would require the main character to be able to bend with his mind. Which seems to be the highest degree of control in bending that we see in the anime from Avatar The last Airbender and Legends of Korra.

2022-08-03 04:05:22 +0000 UTCHmm 🤔 I thought I propose an idea for a skill the main character could develop that would seems kind of useful in battle. So the idea is this for the skill what if the main character developed a sonar like Toph Beifong but instead of sensing it through the ground his sonar works by sensing disturbances in moisture in the atmosphere around him as there's always some degree of moisture in the air and the main character should be able to sense that if he tries or the bodies of other people within a certain range. This would allow him to sense attacks coming from 360° leaving him with no blind spots.
