The Abduction

The night was too quiet…

The sound of footsteps echoed softly on the pavement. Ran and Sonoko, having just left cram school, were walking down a narrow alley they often used to head home.

“It’s chilly tonight,” Sonoko murmured, hugging herself.

“Yeah... let’s hurry. I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” Ran said, glancing around nervously.

Suddenly, two dark figures lunged out from behind a parked van.

Before either girl could scream, rough hands clamped over their mouths. Ran was dragged backward while Sonoko was pulled in the opposite direction. They struggled fiercely, but the attackers were stronger.

Thud!

They were shoved into the back of the van. The floor was covered with a dark blanket. Inside was pitch black. The girls were pinned down, their arms yanked behind their backs and tied tightly with nylon rope. Then thick white cloths were stuffed into their mouths.

“Mmmph! Mmmmmm!” Ran screamed through the gag, eyes wide with panic.

A roll of silver duct tape was pulled out with a harsh snap!

The captors began wrapping the tape over the cloth gags, binding it tightly around their heads, layer after layer until their lower faces were completely mummified.

Now lying side by side, the girls were bound hand and foot, completely immobilized. The only sounds were their muffled breaths and the hum of the engine.

"Stay quiet. You’ll get to your destination soon enough..."

Bang!

The van door slammed shut, and the vehicle rolled off into the darkness, leaving behind only silence… and the beginning of a terrifying mystery.

 Inside an old abandoned storage room…

After what seemed like an endless drive, the van stopped at an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town. The two masked men dragged Ran and Sonoko—still tightly bound—out of the vehicle and carried them inside.

The heavy metal door creaked open with a disturbing screeech, revealing a dusty, cramped storage room filled with old crates and empty oil drums.

“Leave them in here,” one of the men muttered.

Ran was dropped to the floor, followed by Sonoko. Both girls whimpered through their gags, struggling helplessly.

Another length of rope was used to bind their ankles tightly together and then connect them to each other, ensuring they couldn't crawl away even an inch.

One of the men dragged an empty barrel in front of the door like a barricade, then stepped back.

Inside the room, dim neon light flickered through a small ventilation shaft near the ceiling.

Ran panted heavily, trying to move, but the ropes were too tight. The cloth was still jammed in her mouth, pressed firm by the multiple layers of duct tape.

Sonoko lay trembling beside her, eyes filled with fear as she turned to look at Ran.

The captors’ footsteps echoed away, fading slowly…

Then came the heavy clang of the metal door slamming shut.

They were left alone.

Inside a suffocatingly small storage room, with no way to escape, only the sound of their muffled breathing and the slight rustle of rope against the floor could be heard.

Time crawled forward slowly in the darkness… with no one knowing where they were.
