Barry lost me this season. The filmmaking was top notch, but the storytelling felt so random and unfocussed. Come the final episode, I had next to no emotional connection to any of the characters and was actually pretty bored. For me, Succession had the more successful final season and episode by far.
2023-06-03 10:36:23 +0000 UTCI love love love how Succession gave no clear “tipping point” before Shiv froze up during the vote. No flashbacks, no montage, no snide remark from Kendall, she didn’t spot a name on a label of a bottle of water that reminded her of something her dad said to her once… Just a box full of puzzle pieces for we the audience to assemble. A brave move that completely pays off upon revisit.
