Subbed just to hear about Poor things.

+1 about the Poor Things score. I thought it was awesome!

Hi guys. I was glad to hear all three of you enthuse about the grandly entertaining and thought-provoking POOR THINGS. It’s such an unusual, oddball kind of film, I fear most folks won’t see it until it’s streaming (how to market such a movie??), but its visuals are stunning on the big screen. One aspect that y’all didn’t mention and has not been acknowledged by enough critics: the musical score that is (mostly) by Jerskin Fendrix. The music adds so much to the *emotional* atmosphere of the film, with sections that range from slightly off-key with sparse instruments to sweepingly dramatic orchestrations. For me, the freedom and daring of the score matches the kind of big-swing risk-taking that imbues the entire film and Lanthimos’s approach. Here’s wishing you and yours all good things in 2024…it looks to be a bumpy road ahead, and leaning on friends (both online and IRL) to get through it will remain essential.
