Mostly just swapped some colors around and muted his palette. I think something less saturated than the original is more fitting for his motives and personality. It also translates better if I end up doing my whole comic in black+white
Some random thoughts on my design philosophy:
He's got a huge ego about how easy it is for him to blend in and befriend (or manipulate) different types of people so I think even from the start I wanted his colors to feel kind of neutral.
I also originally wanted him to look kind of like a popstar or a celebrity because of the contrast between his clean + polite public persona and his debauched + sadistic private persona so I hope that idea kind of comes across.
My old design looks so dated by comparison in the 2nd image.
