I do believe that Morgan Freeman reached peak Morgan Freeman when he hosted Through the Wormhole. The beauty of both Snowcrash and Ready Player One is that they feel like they could be interconnected with Neuromancer. What makes each work and unique is their perspective of technology: Neuromancer as Man vs Machine, Snowcrash as Man vs Man, and Ready Player One, which I'm still reading but my initial take is, Man vs Society/Culture. Also, the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy did a really good job of foreseeing the rise of tablets as well as the absurdity of modern/consumerist culture, it also has an improbability drive! Perhaps there's some relationship to the singularity engine...
