I've watched the show already. Trying to watch the movie now. It is already laughably bad.

Full series is also on Netflix! Light is a completely different animal in the show than the movie. Way less annoying, way more dangerous. Lakeith will always be my preferred version of L.

Having just watched it based on this review, I actually really enjoyed the attempt at matching the OTT hysterical anime acting you often see. It makes it interesting enough to get into. I actually enjoyed it (on a similiar level to how I enjoyed 'The Guest'). With the similiar psychotic anti-hero overtones. Now I actually want to watch the anime after hearing people bitch about it for over a decade to me.

I actually started watching the anime after seeing the film. The film was at least interesting enough to make that happen!

This is awesome! I think if you had watched the anime, you would have had different conclusions just because of the drastic changes. However, it is its own movie. Anyway, I'm already on board the hype train for getting on the hype train!

"Like, uncomfortably into it. There are red flags flying up all over the place, but a horny teenager is not even remotely equipped to detect them." I laughed so hard at this line (and others) but this was so true. She was too into it, and as things progressed I wanted to pull Light aside and start screaming, "DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER! She cray! RUN!"
