New Episode of Excelsior!

Happy new year, all of you beautiful people. Hope you had an awesome Christmas/Kwanza/Hanukkah/what have you. We’re gearing up for a bunch of new videos and music for the beginning of 2019, but in the meantime, Zak is here to help you relieve some of that seasonal darkness.

Like every other Spotify user, he was presented with his most listened to tracks of 2018. Hilariously, the top ten tracks are from when he dealt with a big breakup around this time last year. So join him as he breaks down the top ten and makes fun of himself.

Enjoy!

Love,

Craven+Zak

Finally got to listen to this episode. I dig the tracks, and went thru some similar sadboy shit this year after a summer breakup, so your words were really hitting home. Looking forward to the next episode. Since you mentioned sharing playlists, and it's so easy to do, here's my 2018. Some good variety on there, but some notable exceptions now that I realize just how much I've been using Bandcamp and Youtube this year. https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/37i9dQZF1EjvVdOkcxYZr4?si=2O5C3tvNSgCIyvIlLqfarg

I got my first and only case of heat stroke at a Fugazi show. They rock THAT HARD. Also yes to hang outs please.

Man, so much good shit in here. First - your social media rant is pretty much my world view these days and why I'm never really on facebook anymore. Fuck that shit. Second - In on the Kill Taker remains one of my top albums of all time, and yes I saw Fugazi on that tour, and yes I'm still sort of bragging about it 25 years later. Third - if you haven't already, check out Tobacco, my favorite new find this year (and STRFKR was #2) - Motorlicker is a great intro to them. Fourth - let's find a weekend to hang out.

Hell yeah I was hoping people would be able to relate in this way. Also for the record, you’re not much older than me. It’s never too late to get into bad contemporary music!

I beat down 2018 with a stubby flashlight. It won't be coming back!

Zak, keep doing these. They are very cathartic and I love many of your philosophies. I'm likely at the older end of the Patrons - 45 next month - I knew none of your top ten but can appreciate and relate to the context and emotions that are engaged with these tunes. Music to calm, music to rebel, music to say fuck-you and music to help you move on. Been though lots of shit at various times and I could easily create a weird and diverse playlist of tunes that have got me through some tough times.

I'm really enjoying these and appreciate you just putting this stuff out there in this format. Good stuff.
