BEGGING Devindra to learn the proper pronunciation of Ayo Edebiri’s surname

Gabe Robinson

I went to see that Horizon movie from Kevin Costner today, and I was happy that it was not some right wing fever dream. However, before the movie they showed a trailer for a movie about Ronald Reagan that's coming out next month that incredibly looks like it will be praising him as if he was a hero, and it stars Dennis Quaid as Reagan. I'm amazed people still like him after all the lasting damage he did to this country. Anyway, Horizon is very weird, as it 100% feels like Costner wrote scripts for a full season or two of a TV show and just mashed the first few episodes together and released it as a movie. There are a ton of characters introduced, many of whom never interact with each other as they're in totally different parts of the country, and there is nothing close to any resolution of anything anywhere in this film. I know it's supposed to be a 4 part film series, but he really should have just made this a TV show. I don't think I've ever seen a film that was less self contained than this one was. It's like 3 hours of set ups and then it abruptly ends. Very odd. Probably worth seeing just because of what a weird thing it is.
