Dear Patrons,
I hope you'll forgive me for not giving you an exclusive preview clip this month. After all, we are now just about one month away from the final release of the episode, so I thought it'd be a bit redundant. Instead, here's the trailer!
It's not news to those of you who have been following along on the monthly updates: Tales of Zale 'Flickering Lights' (AKA. Episode 3) is set to release September 7th!
So, there's a lot to prep for, and you will probably see and hear a bit more of it before the episode goes live. But for now, let's have a look at some highlights:
ART BOOK
The art book/making of book is in its final stages of design, and it's looking veeeryyy cool if I do say so myself. It's going to be a real treat to have it sent to print on Friday! We will have 150 made, which will be sold at the exhibition, Viborg Animation Festival - and of course, I'll have an online shop set up as well so that non-Danish folks will have a chance to snap one up :)

EXHIBITION
I've been hard at work preparing high-resolution exhibition prints and planning the whole thing. We haven't started advertising it yet, but if you're in Denmark in the Copenhagen-area, here's the event link.

I really want to get more folks in Denmark interested in the process behind animation and show how much work goes into it, so if you know anybody who might be interested, feel free to spread the word!
MORE PRINTS
Since I'm going to an Artist Alley during the animation festival as well, and I thought it'd be a bit sad to only sell the lone art book and nothing else, I've started prepping some prints as well. I'm trying to keep it simple, but I'm super excited to have some stuff in the actual physical realm. We have a lot of artists in town, with professional print setups that I can borrow from. It almost makes the print look all water-color-guash-like! So needless to say, it's going to be some real cool prints!

TV-SERIES
In my 9-17, I've been directing the Tales of Zale TV-series trailer. We've been making a LOT of progress on both trailer and key images, and even pitched a tiny bit underway. It is coming to a close here at the end of August, but LUCKILY it seems we'll be able to reach our goals without any need for crunch. Which is good, 'cause I don't think that'd have been possible on my end.
OH AND I'M ALSO MOVING SOON
And also my car broke down lol. Like, literally, the car engine exploded. There was a big hole in the bottom of the car and pieces of the engine were strewn across the road. Only a bit of smoke and a loud noise though, it was a very undramatic explosion and a very safe halt. The car is dead though, it's not coming back. Luckily it's not as strictly necessary to own a car in Denmark as it is in a lot of other places, and I was on the edge of whether it was worth me having a car anyhow. But it is a bit annoying that it happened right before moving here September 1st, and before the following exhibition. It means I have to do that extra bit of planning and rent a car when needed. Anyhow, all that is just to say that I am in for a wildly hectic September, and I'm looking forward to it!

ROUND-UP:
So that's a quick run-down of what's happening at the moment. There's a LOT to work on right now, but I'm also trying to focus on getting a lot of this print-stuff done now so I can focus the last bit of time on doing final polishes to the visuals of episode 3. I'm going to be able to nit-pick forever and ever, so it's also important to have a date when I declare that it's all done. But before then, I'll do all that I can. Look forward to showing you soon!
Until next time,
- Sif
