Considering Dave's love for the one-take movies, I'd suggest 2018s Utoya: July 22 (the Norwegian one, not to be confused with Greengrass’ Netflix film) which details the 2011 terror attack in Norway through one unbroken, continuous shot. It’s one of the most harrowing movie experiences of my life and a perfect example of a ”10/10, will never watch again”-type of film.

4K TVs Are now considered small?

Mountain of Conflict

Sheesh we got like 20 min on Apple’s lame, over priced Apple Vision Pro

This

It’s the episode from Oct 11

I think Terrifier 2 is an improvement on the first in that there’s some semblance of a plot, but personally I thought Terrifier 3 was fucking terrible

You can tell in the next two movies they’re trying very hard to get around accusations of misogyny, but it’s still being done by a misogynist so there’s just a fundamental misunderstanding of how to not be misogynist.

Austin Buccowich

My problem with the Terrifier movies is that they do feel (to me) to have an ugly streak of misogyny in them. I know that’s a charge often leveled at horror/slasher movies (and often incorrectly) but it definitely feels true for these ones, beginning with All Hallow’s Eve where (SPOILER) the victim ends up with all her limbs amputated and horrifically misogynistic slurs like “slut” and “cunt” carved into her body. That to me is a real escalation from Freddy calling someone a “bitch.” The kill Dave alludes to in Terrifier 1 is also really deeply unpleasant - I feel like the most sadistic and extended kills are reserved for women in these movies. I agree that the practical makeup and gore effects work is really impressive, but they’re in service of movies that I feel a certain discomfort with.

Jeff should really try watching more ordinary 2d content on vision pro, if he feels he's not getting his money's worth. Watching regular movies and TV on enormous wall sized screens can be just as game changing as immersive or 3d videos. I can't imagine viewing anything with serious visuals on a small screen anymore, it's literally a 10x difference in size using the pro vs my 4k TV. (PS yes you'll want to invest in a custom strap or attachment to reduce pressure)

James Moon

fyi I would love a Slashfilm live!!

Even if it’s something I have no interest in I’ll listen at least to the limerick, Dave’s thoughts, then go to the final 5 minutes to catch the wrap up and what they are reviewing next week.

Mark P

I always just listen to the ep until the movie review starts as I’ve pretty much never already seen it. Then if I do watch the movie I’ll go back and start from where I left off

Re: Smile PR stunt at baseball games. All MLB parks have serious netting behind home plate so that those seats are well protected from foul balls. It’s still extremely scary to see what is probably a 100mph+ ball hurtling towards what you perceive to be your face

There was also a Terrifier 2011 short.

David Esposito

It was reviewed on an After Dark.

Papool Chaudhari

Art the Clown did not start with Terrifier 1. He was first in Damien Leone's short "The 9th Circle" (2008), a Terrifier short film (2011) and then his horror anthology feature, "All Hallows' Eve" (2013). Just FYI.

As an aside, do I remember last week Dave saying the crew will cover It’s What’s Inside this week? Or did I miss it last week?

Paxton Schwarz

Sometimes I prefer episodes like this where I have no interest in the reviewed movie and know I will never see it so I don’t feel pressure to hurry up and watch the movie before listening. Thanks, crew

Mark P

Dave: "Send in voicemails for the 800th episode by email." Unsaid by Dave: "Don't call in and leave a voicemail on the voicemail line that is listed in the show notes of every single episode." Lol

Papool Chaudhari

I'm always bummed when a streaming movie is the featured review rather than a theatrical release. Makes me feel like the theatrical experience is just that much closer to being dead.
