Added 2021-03-29 02:01:00 +0000 UTCWhile this story might have fitted in the category of the book we are writing with stories from the Old West, this is from the East and is both a war story and historical - this surgeon really existed and the US Civil War had a huge impact on surgical practices, and not just amputations.

This is some of your best work. Convincingly presented as a written artifact of that era. And the story is charming. Humanely romantic, sad but poignant. Love can conquer all. Even the deprivations of war. Thanks for the wonderful story.
