This one is based on two gentlemen in Victorian Britain who preferred to appear in society as ladies. There was a trial, but what was the crime? I have imagined that there was a third person who escaped the attentions of the law.

Someone commenting on a blog on the BCTS site mentionned how little we know about transgender struggles that escaped the notice of mainstream historical examination. And so we are left to piece together tidbits in the marginalia of contemporary accounts and biographical sketches. What you are doing in this volume could spur real scholarship in the field. Thank you for serving up entertainment along with a heuristic aspect.
