Project FAQ (Updated 6/27/2019)

Patreon is the lifeblood of my art right now. It enables me to create and explore while still being able to (for the most part) pay my rent! That stability alone is amazing and future goals will enable me to spend more time working on art and creative services instead of looking for odd jobs here and there to make ends meet. You all make such a positive impact on my life through patreon so thank you! If means the world to me <3

If you ever have any questions, concerns, need clarifications, about this FAQ etc. Feel free to comment here or send me a PM! (This is a working document and will get updated as changes are made!)

Q: What is Patreon?
Patreon is a platform where you ("patrons") can support their favourite creators and get cool content in a return! You choose how much you want to support that creator each month and can change it at any time. Each tier on my Home Page is my way of giving back to you all for different amounts of support. Tiers are geared towards different types of reward types but even if you can only support with a small amount it means a LOT and you still get perks for supporting me here.

Q: How often am I charged?
This is a Monthly project, you do not get charged immediately upon signing up but on the 1st of each month (PST/PDT) after you sign up. The payment goes towards the next months queue.

Ex: You pledge in January, you get charged Feb 1st and the payment pays for FEB content, not January (even though the back end of patreon will say January, which can be confusing.) This way i can see who pays and who doesn't and reward accordingly.

Once your payment has processed, this is when you start getting rewards!

Contact Patreon support if you have any issues with your payments.

Q: Can I cancel my pledge?
Yes! You can, EDIT or DELETE your pledge at any time. Just remember that if you cancel you loose access to the blog updates so wait until later in the month to do so if you want to get the most out of your previous pledge!

Q: I can only pledge $1 but it feels like it wont make a difference! Is it worth pledging $1?
100% yes! Every little bit helps and honestly, most people i support, i can only support with $1 as well. It's really common to pledge $1-$3! It all adds up! Your support means the world and it all goes towards keeping me creating and making more cool stuff for YOU at the price you can afford!

Q: When do i get my rewards?

*Note: All of the rewards are based on -successful- payments (when you are charged is listed earlier in the page.) Once you've successfully paid, then i get to work on your rewards!

I do my best to make sure that everything gets finished and out within the month of your pledge however please understand that I actively deal with Carpal Tunnel/Tendonitis and some other physical health issues. There are sometimes delays but I'm always very transparent and forefront about such delays because you all deserve to be informed!

Discord: Once payments process, if you have discord connected to your patreon, it should add you to the proper roles right at the beginning of the month. However, it doesn't always work (and it won't if you don't have them connected) so i always make rounds at the beginning of the month to move people into the proper roles id I'm aware of what their discord name is. If i don't catch you in the round, please send me a patreon PM with your discord username and make sure you've joined the server and I'll get you updated!

If you have a custom commission or the mentorship tier, you must have your descriptions of what you want for that month in to me (I send a PM at the beginning of the month), no later than the 5th of the month. If they come in later, delays may happen or i may not be able to fulfill it! If you aren't sure if you can check in every month, there are options for you but you need to come talk to me! Please PM me so we can find a way that works for you.

If i am late delivering, those affected (or the entire patreon page) will be informed and any outstanding work will be finished as soon as is possible. Sometimes life happens, but there will always be updates here! 

Monthly bundles: These get sent out sometime between the last day of the paid month, to the 5th of the next, through PMs to paid folks. (I run my patreon from the 5th to the 5th, essentially, due to not being able to start new content until the payments have processed, which can take up to the 5th.)

Social Media Thank You's: Once people have had their payments process, all new patrons will get a social media thank you over on twitter/facebook/instagram using their first name of their username and potentially a screenshot of their icon included. All new patrons are sent a PM outlining this and given the option to change their name or opt out. If I've not heard back by the 5th then it will get posted as is. 

Store Discounts: These are given out once payments process, to all new patrons through PM's. I will no longer be trying to send these out every month as they are used by patrons very infrequently. You can always PM me and ask for it again if you can't find it though!

Q: What are my rights as a Patron?
This is usually fairly simple: You pay, you get the allotted rewards. HOWEVER, this project is a community and there are rules. If you break them, you'll lose access.

This project includes content on Patreon & Discord but may also include other spaces like galleries, livestreams, etc. If you break the rules on any of those platforms (The platform's terms as well as any rules I've instated for my areas) you may loose access.

Lots of access is dependent on you having an active pledge so if you cancel your support, you may loose access to some things immediately and some things by the end of the payment cycle.
*Please note that if you pledge and cancel in a short period of time without communication or payment you may get blocked as I'll assume you are a bot. (There are better ways to make one time payments to me, patreon is not the place. Contact me! I've got Ko-fi, tons of shops to buy cool stuff from, etc.)

If you are rude or disrespectful in the community spaces, you may be banned from them and rewards may not be fulfilled. You will get a warning to change your behavior and if you continue or lash out after that, you will be terminated from the service and blocked. I'm big on second chances but don't push it please. I want everyone to have a good time in these spaces and we won't tolerate repeat jerks.

Q: Do i have to be a current patron to get rewards fulfilled? What if it takes too long or i can't pledge at that level anymore?
For most things, yes. You need to be actively pledging to get all the rewards for a tier. Much of the content is posted to the blog and you will loose access the moment you cancel (I have no say in this, its just how patreon works) so please stay active until closer to the end of the month to get the most of your payment!
*I will still send out monthly bundles to your patreon PM at the end of the month you paid for even if you canceled.

If you've paid and given information for a commission by the due date (5th of the month) but had to cancel before the next payment, I will complete your content and if need be, email/PM it to you, however if you'd failed to give me information for the commission then i cannot fulfill it and will not chase you to get that information. I used to do this and it detracted from getting everything else done, and isn't fair to paid folks. I have contacts all over, so there is no way someone can't contact me.

Merch tiers require that you are paid up for at least 3 months (a quarter of the year) on that tier to get the merch bundle, however depending on when you start your pledge, it may be another month or two before the next bundle and you need to be active on patreon during fulfillment month for it to be sent! They are only sent out 4 months of the year. March, June, Sept, Dec. Keep this in mind when pledging!
*Note: If you can't pledge at that amount anymore, you can keep your active status by pledging a lower amount, even $1! That way i still have access to your mailing address to get your rewards sent out <3 I loose that when you cancel!

Q: How do the first dibs on commissions/YCH/Freebies/Merch/etc work?
These rewards are "as they become available" and are done in a few different ways. 

• Commissions, Freebies and Merch are usually separate from any tier rewards and as such they are usually first come first served, on a specific blog post either through comments or an order form. Commissions and Merch are usually separate payments from patreon, through paypal (with freebies as the exception of course.)
• Your Character Here (YCH) commissions are either done like the above items (blog post/separate payments), with spots available first come first served OR
  If it's a large patreon supported image with lots of spots for cameos, they will be first come first served, usually for free to current patrons, and those who pledge more will have access to slots closer to the foreground than those who pledge at lower amounts.
• Note: I will try to fit in folks who haven't had a chance at one yet before those who've been in on these a LOT in the past so it might not always be 100% first come first served as i want to try to make it fair for those who aren't attached to the internet 24/7 like i am. 

Q: What are the unlockable items on tiers?
Unlockable items in tiers are goal specific items that will unlock once we reach a certain income goal per month. Most of these unlockable bonuses will lock again if we dip back below that goal threshold but while they are unlocked, those tiers will get bonus content!

Q: How does the $5+ tier (and Ancient Elementals milestone) Patreon Yearbook work?
All patrons that pledge in the year a yearbook is made for, will get put on the list of patrons in that years yearbook, which will also contain monthly art collages, featured or themed pages, etc. This is automatic so if you want to change information like name, image or want to remove your name from the list entirely, then you'll need to PM me to opt out.

The portrait included with $5+ patrons needs to be something i've drawn for them, something they've drawn themselves, OR something they have permission to use in this publication. (Just because you commissioned it, doesn't mean you have the permission to supply it for a publication. Talk to the artist in question!) If you don't have something in any of these categories, i will draw a quick portrait for you.

$1-$4 patrons will be listed but will not have an image.

The PDF/Zine is aimed to be completed in the first quarter of the following year the content is from. So stay tuned!

Ancient Elementals Reward: Physical copies will be made of these yearbooks as needed to supply for these rewards. Keep in mind that wait times may vary depending on how many are needed/how many folks are getting that reward in a similar time frame/etc.

NOTE: 2018 yearbook is being done entirely by hand, manually, for all this information and folks were sent information 6/26 & 27/19 through patreon PM (including those who aren't active patrons anymore) about changes and have until July 15th 2019 to change the info i presented in the image link. In the future, this is automatic and i wont chase folks for these changes if they don't catch any of the posts about them. )
