Stuck in a Shrine

Kuki (Genshin Impact) found herself stuck inside a submerged shrine with no way out in sight. Despite looking like a trap, this was actually a challenge to test her lung capacity underwater.
She seems to have been doing well, until her lungs were already running dry, with her chest heavenly convulsing in pain. She would exhale the air to ease the pain, but the air would remain inside the mask, allowing her to take some small breaths back in return, but eventually the air inside the mask would get stale, and she has to take it off due to the uncomfortable feeling.
How long does she still need to hold on? Can she still even beat this challenge anymore?
