Agreed. I love looking at the math behind live events but some of the discourse is insane. AEW is more like a tv show company than a live events given they don't do house shows. That's the bread and butter.

I have been making this same argument for a while. No cared in 2019 til the pandemic. After everything opened up and WWE heated up again, its been "my company draws better than your company" bullshit. We could be lucky as wrestling fans that we have two thriving wrestling companies doing the business they are doing. NO ONE should want to only have one big national company in town. The fact that AEW draws 2-6k for TVs and 10k+ for PPVs is great. There was a time in the last 15-20 years WWE was going 3-7k for RAW and Smackdown, 10k + for PPV, and only 1 stadium show per year.

I have been looking at AEW's attendance since 2019 for Dynamite and there are MANY that are like 3k+ through out the history (usually in smaller markets and suburbs). No one cared that AEW dynamite episode #6 from Charlotte NC only drew 3600 in a 10k building. Is it now because WWE has gotten hot that people are pointing this out against AEW as if AEW used to draw 10k on average?
