HITS: WORLD EVENTS September 2019 - Dick Allgire

Hello dear Cryptofarmer. Thank you very much for your lines and sharing about the weather conditions in Dakota. Your words making the predictions from our viewers more tangible. This is a real challenging situation for the farmers. We hope you and your dear ones are safe. Thank you for being here with us and also for your contribution. Warm greetings, Rose

I’m 71, a retired farmer living in eastern North Dakota. The recent storm referenced above was extremely unusual for this time of year. It began with a light steady rain Wednesday afternoon which turned to heavy snow and blizzard conditions for two full days, with wind gusts to 50 mph. We have blizzards like this in ND but never in October, (although we had an unusual snowfall October 10 last year.) All the trees still had their leaves, and the farmers in my area had not yet begun to harvest their soybean and corn crops. Many have not finished harvesting their wheat crops. What make this storm particularly devastating was that the temperature at the time held between 32-34F, so wet and sticky. On the shelterbelt (rows of trees protecting the homestead), sadly, there’s tree damage equivalent to 10-20 years’ worth of summer storms, (caused by the weight of the snow stuck to the leaves.) I’m expecting the financial loss to local farmers to be extreme. Crops were planted 2-3 weeks later than normal due to the late spring, then we’ve had unusually excessive rains through the season, especially in September, when soybeans would normally be harvested. Even if we get an Indian Summer, as we did last year (which saved that crop) harvesting may prove impossible due to the saturated state of the soil. Thus the soil may have to freeze solid so harvesting equipment doesn’t get stuck in the mud, and then little to no snow on top of that. I feel this could very well be a hit for Dick Allgire, and also Clif’s Web-bot markers I believe were “dead on the money” relative to usually excessive rains and shorter growing for this season.

Denver records 70 degree temperature drop in 34 hours It’s now tied for the second-greatest temperature swing in Denver’s recorded history. Following a high temperature of 83 degrees on Wednesday afternoon, the mercury plummeted all the way down to a low of 13 degrees on Thursday night, marking a full 70 degrees temperature swing in just 34 hours. -- https://www.denverpost.com/2019/10/11/denver-cold-temperature-drop/

great !

I stand corrected in my prior post. It has dropped 26 degrees in the last 7 hours and is continuing to drop as I type this.

The front passed through where I am at in Texas a few hours ago. I am looking at about a 20 degree drop and snow in our great state. Definitely a fierce front. Good job on the hit. Once I saw this one coming, I knew you nailed it as there aren't very many with these kind of temperature swings.
