If you can foresee a catastrophic event, why not plan ahead (like Dick's moving from Hawaii). He didn't just get afraid, go into shock and play possum, he did something about it. Put emphasis on letting key critical positions know whats coming instead of just passive doing nothing to stop it. Even simple surgeries can't be done due to the surgeon having died months ago of the virus. 6) With a 50% population death within a 1 year period - this would take THAT nation down for good. Who is going to train the next generations? Who is going to be alive to access the databases at hospitals, banks, governments, power companies. This virus takes people down so fast they don't have time to train a new worker. Possibly the most important person, the ultimate VIP! If the corporate tech support guy dies, who is going to issue new passwords? That system will never be accessed, and locked up forever. The above vulnerabilities MUST be remote viewed. I don't think it is a lost cause. If key vulnerabilities are given extra triple redundancy - three people trained and waiting in the wings should person 1 & 2 die of the virus. Also, key pieces of equipment should be protected from EMP attack. The solution to avoiding this is to be on contact with certain higher ups and let them know that these vulnerabilities must be protected with protocols to expect such a scenario. Use RV skills to anticipate the vulnerabilities, and then contact the leadership within these organizations in order for them to have 6 months to bolster these specific areas.
