Re free will, let me share what I heard a wise man say. His name doesn't matter. He said that we are very lucky because we live in special times. As many people as never before in human history can now think for themselves. Truth is authority, not authority is truth. Things now will matter because they're true, not because such- and-such, the Queen or Mr President has said so. Yes, people have free will, and the people will be the new superpower. Sounds unbelievable? When the people lead, the leaders must follow. Mark these words. It will happen, if we decide to save the planet.

I suppose it makes sense that information re technology has always been around and understood by more advanced beings, and that that information is shared with us mortals from time to time to get us to where we need to be. This has probably been the case on this planet many times with many different groups of people in previously advanced civilizations, let alone advanced civilizations on different planets.
