Christine Lagarde encourages young people to engage in the future of the Euro

In a video on International Youth Day, ECB President Christine Lagarde tried to get the younger generations interested in European monetary policy and the euro in particular. She ended the video in which she presents the ECB survey "ECB Listens" with an appeal to the youth.

But it seems young people have already ended with the Euro. The Lagarde video provoked over 330 responses - almost all of them a plea for Bitcoin.

PHYSICS: TIME CRYSTALS

Salt, ice and sugar have one thing in common: their components are arranged in such a way that they form a periodic pattern in space. And because this property was first discovered on frozen water - "krýstallos" means frost or ice - it became a category term for all kinds of substances or materials.

Time crystals were first proposed back in 2012 by the Nobel Laureate  Frank Wilczek from MIT, and since then many scientist have been scratching their heads trying to understand the concept. The article “In search of time crystals” by Philip Ball is a good place to learn the basics (https://physicsworld.com/a/in-search-of-time-crystals/).

Every piezo crystal in wristwatches can be made to oscillate by means of electricity, but the time crystal does not need this, it does it by itself. This is the crucial point: we don't have to show the time crystals what makes them tick. Time crystals have the bizarre ability to repeat patterns of motion  through time, even when there’s no external force driving them.

Now scientists have observed two time crystals interacting for the first  time, which could be the first step towards using them for practical  applications like quantum computing.
