I think you have to look at the nickel futures market as a model. The price of nickel went sky high but they canceled the trades of many that were holding long positions. By doing this, they protected a billionaire but completely broke the derivatives market for nickel. If we extrapolate this to corn, the market goes sky high but no one can deliver the corn. The market breaks. Force majeure. Everybody loses. The longs get nothing and the shorts get nothing.
