My players were pretty op when they fought their first pit fiend, so I made the next one a legendary creature, gave him some low level goons, and used his fire immunity to take the paladin for a lava bath after the paladin smited him for almost 200 points of damage.

2025-02-13 16:30:02 +0000 UTCMy players were about lv17 when they fought the one in Maladomini who chooses to fight alone. He did alot of flying and ranged attacks and tried to stick to the squocmshy ones. I used the police getting closer every round to add a sense of urgency, but without minions he just got focused down!
