News 📰 - Monday 29th April
Added 2024-04-29 08:00:05 +0000 UTCHi all, it has been nearly a month since my last update, and it is time to share some more info!
1) The Pit Stop App has two new features in the works!
A button to enable some AI (selected at random) to start on a tyre compound one softer or one harder than the main one selected. This will increase realistic variation.
A button to enable some AI (selected at random) to do a reverse pit tyre strategy to that defined in the sliders. This will also increase realistic variation.
2) I'm looking into making UI for a number of the apps which have user variables to increase usability. It is much nicer to not have to open files and manually edit code to make setup changes, like we have for the Pit App.
3) The Mechanical Failure App will include more types of failures!
Tyre Blow outs for the player. (These won't occur for the AI, as they don't react well to tyre blow outs.)
Rear Wing failures for the player. (These won't occur for the AI, as they appear to drive just as quick with a broken rear wing.)
Once again, a big thank you to all members for being a part of this adventure, we have over 250 members now!

Well even that is more realistic than what the AI is currently doing haha. But yeah, any improvement closer to a realistic ''quali'' stint will be very helpful. Thanks

2024-05-09 09:56:54 +0000 UTCHi, yeah, it's certainly possible to be done! Although from my experience they have been doing one out lap, a quick lap and then coming back to the pits. I'll have a look into this!

I was messing around with the code from Nuzzi's ''Start race with same fuel'' Mod, to see if I could make the AI use the same fuel as me in a qualify session as well but couldn't make it work. Can it be done @Nuzzi?? If so, please could you release a mod. Much appreciated and keep up the good work.

2024-05-07 22:00:45 +0000 UTCHey Nuzzi, thanks for all the late updates. I was wondering if with all this amazing AI improvements, did you consider to improve a bit the AI behaviour during qualify as well regarding fuel loads/stints. From what I see AI tends to over fuel quite a bit during qualifying and either run for more laps with a full load, or just do short stints with fuel load, tested a bit with both Kunos and modded cars. Playing with the fuel_cons.ini in car/data helps a bit, but AI will just do an early light stint and still overfuel by a big margin so rarely improves. Race fuel monitor app, shows a nice calculated FxL calculations after they run a couple of laps as well, but they almost never load for just 3-4 qualy laps. Not sure how viable is for a fix, even trying to put a max_fuel load just during qualy, based just on the fuel_cons.ini of the car itself may help, but also not sure how easy this is and how much time would require from your side. Just throwing the suggestion there :)
