Files are already available, check, print, enjoy ;)
Initially, I wanted to make only the fountain guard spear, but in the process I realized that they are quite similar, so I ended up wanting to make the gondorian soldier spear as well.
I saw two positive things in this:
- you will get 2 models instead of one and will probably be happy about it
- I will make both models at once and I will not need to look for references on the theme of these copies in the future
Speaking of references for the fountain guard spear, I didn't expect it to be so hard to find references for a seemingly simple spear. But no, I searched using different wordings and phrases, searched and looked through frames from the film (the images were very blurry, since I did not find close-ups of the subject of interest to me).
There was one place hidden from view on this spear (due to the angle on the reference I have). I could not figure out what form it was, whether there was a junction or a transition. In the end, I did what I thought was right (later it turned out that I was wrong, but I was on the right track).
But I was saved by one good person (Thanks again zalkegeroth) who sent me awesome references! Also another great person shared references for gondorian soldier spear (Thanks n2darkness).
After that, I corrected the form and was pleased with the result - now everything is correct, everything corresponds to the original.
So here we are
Spear options:
shaft 30.6x2030mm
blade length 650mm
As a result, there are 4 versions for each spear:
-smooth uncut
-detailed uncut
-smooth cut into several pieces
-detailed cut into several pieces
In the uncut version, there is only a separation of the blade from the shaft, there is a connecting groove at the junction.
In the cut version, everything is divided for ease of printing on printers with a print area of 200x200x200mm.
Accordingly, if you have chosen a cut version, then after printing, all parts should be glued together using special matching grooves on the parts.
Also in the cut version there are holes for the rod, they are also in the shaft (for rod 20x2000mm) and in the blade (for rod 5x550mm).
If desired, you can replace the shaft with a pipe, as there is a hole in the tip of the spear for a pipe with a diameter of 25mm. In this case, at the junction there will not be an even transition from the tip to the pipe, but with a "step". If you take a pipe that matches the diameter of the shaft and connect the pipe to the spearhead with some kind of insert, then the transition will be smooth.
choose what is convenient for you :)
I tried to make the model flexible to modifications.
2 models instead of one, quite good, in my opinion
I hope you will be happy as I am :)
