I think even if you add the quantifier, many/most people will still go to antecedents when defending their point of view.

These debates will always be contentious unless we all start doing one thing: using statistical qualifiers. If we say “Men are more [x] and women are more [y]”, we know what we mean is “Men ON AVERAGE are more [x] and women ON AVERAGE are more [y]”, but if we don’t add that “on average” qualifier, people will just jump on the technicality and say “AHHH I know a man who’s shorter than a woman AHHHH GOTCHU!!” We have to take that option away. It won’t affect our points at all but will eliminate these objections almost completely
