I would guess that women who throw themselves at a man are generally low-quality. A higher quality women would be more likely to sit back and observe the guy to see if he's worthy before approaching him. Just because she's seen the guy on TV or knows he has a lot of money doesn't mean she knows him, and one of the most valuable ways to learn about him is to watch how he acts when he isn't trying to impress her.
