If it's just for sex then I don't think it's ethical 99% of the time, of course if it was a very casual and superfluous relationship and your friend doesn't care, go ahead, I think it's a little disgusting but you do you. If your friend cared about this person deeply, there's no way he'll be 100% ok with it. But I think that if you're in love then there's no bro code to respect, just acknowledge and accept you're giving up a friendship for a romance.
