Im probably remembering this wrong but I think I heard someone say that originally, the writers were planning on having a story arc where Pam would cheat on Jim with Brian and Jim would cheat on Pam with Kathy. But they scraped it due to so much already happening with other charters. Honestly Im glad they went with the latter, that would've been a sad and depressing arc for me lmao.
