10 Years of TOFOP

On this day, 10 years ago, we released the first episode of @tofop. We were huge fans of @smodcast w/ @thatkevinsmith and @samosier and when you listen to the first few episodes, the influence is obvious. Back in the day, before true crime and dads writing pornos became the norm, you didn’t need a ‘hook’ for your podcast, the fact that you were making a podcast at all was novelty enough. As the medium grew and got more professional and sophisticated, our little show curiously did not. We’d often forget to turn the microphones on, or forget to record at all. I don’t know how many eps have been lost due to technical incompetence, but it’s a lot. The fact that our first every live show with @itsgreggers and @dave_anthony_ also didn’t record seemed totally appropriate (#RIPSuperpod). Yet despite all this we muddled our way through the first 100 eps and started adding people to our show who’d become mainstays. People like @james_fosdike who does all our artwork, @johndeeks who became our offical MC and who has stolen every live show we’ve ever done, #MicHAL who enabled us to record the show when we were living in different countries and actually made it sound good, @samcav22 who came on as our silent business partner and #PodcastMike who now produces every show across our network, including #FOFOP @wilosophypod & #2Guys1CupAFL. If you told me back in 2010 that this “comedy conversation between two old mates” would be around a decade later, I would have wondered how you had such detailed knowledge of the future, assumed you were a witch and burned you at the stake. It was a different time. But I also would have been surprised that this little show with a confusing name that we’d be forced to constantly explain to people would have made it this far. To everyone who listens, thank you. Also, what’s wrong with you? And of course, thank you @officialwilanderson, we may not be the biggest show around, but we’re definitely the most pointless, which is kind of the point, I guess. And if we’re still doing this in 10 years, we’ll know we’ve really stuffed up. #TOFOP #10FOP #coolthingsforcoolpeople #nothingforeveryone #wilosophy #podcast #everyonerelax

10 Years of TOFOP

Thank you Wil, Charlie and the growing TOFOP team. What keeps me coming back is the rambling mateship and surprise scenarios and adventures. Your podcast has also introduced me to many other great comedians particularly Dave Anthony. Best wishes and we will enjoy TOFOP as long as you choose to do it. Here to another decade!

Thank you for decade of entertainment, boys. Sorry Charlie for spelling your name wrong at Rydges Hotel for Telethon in 2014

I’ve been listening to podcasts for a long time…. After hearing a thing on triple J (hack) announcing that podcasts were a thing, I started with Dr Karl, Sunday Night Safran and weirdly, Penns Sunday School. In the early days that was plenty, but when I found TOFOP, it not only became a staple, your taste in other pods led me to all sorts of entertainment, culture and humour that I would definitely not have come across otherwise. I now have a feed that is unmanageable but there are a handful of pods that are must listens every week, yours is one. Congratulations on the milestone. Thanks for the good natured, meandering rambling. I think it’s one of the greatest but then again… I’m not a doctor.

Thank you Charlie and Wil. You’re the best. The Statler and Waldorf of our times

Thank you Charlie and Will. We need a zoom Tofop now to add some happiness! In my view your show reviews are the best - though Charile's old man bin ramblings are also strangely compelling. If tech goes wrong it will be on brand. If the unexpected happens it will be on brand - you can't lose and it would be a public service.

Thank you. Love you!

Incredible. 10 years of podcasting. 10 years of giving thousands of people a good laugh while they’re washing the dishes. 10 years of you two keeping me company while I walk and bike and drive. For 10 years Wil and Charlie have been letting us get to know them, and they’ve become so close and important to so many people around the world. Thank you thank you thank you for all that you two do (and Podcast Mike, MicHal & Foz). Keep up the great work.

10 years of TOFOP, who would have thunk it? Thanks for persisting with this comedy conversation for so long, it has brought me so many laughs over the years.

oh gooood for you ! (i mean it, really, good for you!) 10 more years please...

Thanks for ten years of the best comedy conversation between old two mates
