Poll + Update + The Truth

Hello everyone.

It's been a while since I last updated the project - and as such, I wanted to make a thorough update regarding the current state of the project and to announce some desired changes toward future content.

This is a long post, so please bare with me while I attempt to get everything off my chest.

The Truth

Two years ago, I've began to self-teach myself 3d animation. And honestly, it has been the best decision of my life. It's given me the ability to bring a fantasy into reality. It has given me opportunities that I thought I would never receive. It has allowed me to talk to amazing people from the industry, and receive advice from. Perhaps it's given me more of a purpose in life, I never thought of myself to be a creative person (and tbh i still dont lol) but this new "talent" of mine has been the greatest gift bestowed upon me.

However, I've been hiding something from you guys, and I want to be completely transparent with you all regarding it.

It may have been obvious to some, but the production of Project Untitled has greatly dwindled in efficiency, which is primarily due to my lack of motivation towards the project. I don't want to say it, but Untitled isn't fun to animate anymore as it was when I started it. The joy to animate is there, but the motivation towards new scenes, planning new shots out, is honestly not. The primary reason for this isn't really clear to me yet, but perhaps it's me wanting to try something new; maybe I feel more wanting to animate new characters or create a completely new scene with already existing characters. And honestly, Untitled has been really blocking me from such free time to continue improving or trying new things. In  my mind, I feel that Untitled is my topmost priority because most people would probably want to see Untitled complete more than anything else - I often get stressed whenever I take a break from the project on a specific day, since I feel certain people get ticked off that I chose not to work on it. I should also remind some people that I'm a human too, I have other real-life things to attend to, and I don't have as much free time on certain days as some of you might think.

However I'm not just gonna pussy out and cancel the project, and don't worry, I'm going to finish what I have started. And after all, you are here reading this because you care about Untitled and you want to see it done. And I hear you! I want it done as much as all of you guys, too.

My feelings toward Untitled may change over time, but right now I feel that changes must be made in order to stay productive on my part.

The Update

Scene 27.1 and 27.2 are nearly completely polished. Once it's done, I'll release the WIP bit for patrons.

If you've been active on the Discord, I've streamed my progress on this scene a few times and honestly it's been a great success! I've had a lot of fun talking with you guys and streaming my work - it's been giving me a noticeable productivity boost!

With this in mind, how much would you guys like it if I went "official", like set up a Picarto account to (hopefully) frequently stream my animation sessions, and perhaps open a voice channel so you all could talk in it? I think it would be a lot of fun! But let me know what you think!

The Poll

So with all of these new desired changes that I have planned, I want to present a proposal.

Recently, many people have asked that I open commissions to request their own scenarios/animations being done with their own characters (or the ones from Untitled) and I have greatly considered that option. Additionally, I've been wanting to animate other characters completely unrelated to Untitled and practice some animation skills that really need improvement.

My goal for this change is to not only keep myself productive but to also release more content for you guys within a single month.

What this may mean for patrons is giving you guys more frequent WIP content of shorter projects. However I'm not sure how most of you would feel about me working with other characters. Obviously there will still be dragons! But if there is a certain not-so-dragon character that you would like to see animated doing... something... please let me know in the comments!

So with allllll this off my mind, what do you guys think? Feel free to vote in the poll for what you would like to see happen, or send any other concerns regarding these changes! It would mean a lot for what's to come!

Take care guys

To be honest, I prefer you to work only on what you really want, and especially don't mind that much about people. Yes, you want to commit and deliver Untitled because a lot of people want to see it, but I wouldn't let it affect you negatively or make you feel like you must comply with other people. There's no deadline, and you should work on it only when you feel like it. If you see it as something you MUST deliver, against your own will, you will see it more as a burden and as "homework" rather than something you are doing because you want and enjoy. This is very important, because if it gets to you too hard, you may actually want to quit entirely because you won't see working on Blender as something enjoyable, but rather as something tedious and stressful, which is what you don't want. It happened to me, and that's why I don't do my own renders anymore: because the person which I work with asked me to do renders with humans and vore, which I absolutely hate. So now I see Blender as something that I don't like to use because it has nasty things in my opinion.

I really want to open comms for you guys but Untitled ultimately stops me from doing so. I know people want Untitled done so I stick to that, but it's difficult to find the motivation to continue the project at a full pace. I would probably find more joy out of it if either (a) I streamed my progress or (b) just work on something else more interesting.

I would love to commission something but if you want to stick with untitled then there's no stopping you.
