I think the most people at this point in time can do is the best they can, and probably just volunteer for good in their own communities. Technology, social control, surveillance and public relations have gotten too powerful, so my money is on maybe a few more of these "release valve" moments happening every once in a while throughout the years as the US fragments and gets weaker and weaker in a way that never looks like a hard/sharp collapse. America will hold on to the #1 spot as long as possible, which will be bad for the world as a whole, and this will continue small proxy wars and the slow destruction of plant, animal and other human life. For something great to happen for the species it would probably take something quite giant, violent and sudden.

But you can't disregard the entirety of what seeps through the media by calling it spectacle, you still have to tease everything apart and figure out what's relevant to struggle, if anything. The media will portray unimportant matters as earth-shifting and turn actual horrors into something too banal to bear. You can't just approach everything on autopilot. And re: spiritual experience, I say he was good because he admitted he hadn't been thinking about things in a nuanced way and started being much more careful in how he approached issues and started seeking out the dual nature of everything he talked about. He has just slowly backed away from that since.

Obviously there is a lot of inane/unproductive shit sucking up time and space because of this these spaces. I would say in person organizers can be just as easily be sidetracked by cringe ppl looking for a social outlet, but whatever. Most importantly, idk how the hell we can look at the modern right and not see how Rush Limbaugh etc. being a constant whisper in the ears of Americans isn't a major factor in marinating the Trump mindset/phenomenon. Reactionary propaganda being background noise has been a huge factor. They were pitching their world view uncontested during morning commutes for decades. The left finally has some semblance of background noise a simpleton or marginally political person can latch onto. Throwing that completely out to focus only on "organizing working spaces" would be extremely fucking stupid. And God damn it I need something to listen to while I'm administrating disability insurance!
