Ep 179: The Short 21st Century? w/ Tarence Ray

Nearly two years after the epic Trillbillies Workers Party crossover episode, Sean and Tarence decided to check in on how Giovanni Arrighi's historical schema is holding up. Then they throw in some Ellen Meiksins Wood and Andreas Malm for good measure. Also, what to make of the NatCon/Post-Left losers from the Vanity Fair article.

"why now? why Ukraine?"- at a time when labour is running low and the west needs to 'insource' production, it's 100 000 ppl, many of them no doubt eager workers, which also comports with the social and cultural flashpoints (white/european ppl). Perhaps just another small piece of the puzzle

You didn't look very hard lol. But neither did I. Looks like Arrighi was involved in the liberation struggle (on the Zimbabwe side) in Rhodesia, and was apparently jailed and deported by the white supremacist government, so I retract my suspicion of that detail. https://www.tni.org/en/article/histories-of-the-present-giovanni-arrighi-the-longue-duree-of-geohistorical-capitalism-and

You best link to the source of that claim, I can’t find it anywhere. The “some are saying” argument is the same shit that antivaxxers and Q conspiracists use. “DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.” Like damn, this fucking doctor works at a hospital? And that hospital takes money from insurance. And you know how shady those insurers are, damn I guess that doctor can’t be trusted! Simply by stating (without evidence OR context) that someone or some organization has had income or funding in some part from X organization, you are simply setting up a premise in bad faith to sow the seeds of conspiracy. Asshole, YOU do the god damn research and make an actual point instead of rubbing your chin and saying “Huh, makes you think, doesn’t it, coincidence much??”

That intro song is so beautiful yet it's laid upon the most annoying words I've ever heard. Just buy dirt dummies
