huge agree with Andy about night shifts. All through school I worked as a Janitor at a local hockey rink (yea yea, Canadian as shit, I know) and my regular shift was 3pm to 11:30pm 4 days a week and it was the most depressed I've ever been. That kind of schedule just kills your social life, not to mention that working four 8-9 hour shifts a week on top of full time school just cratered my mental health so hard that I suffered multiple emotional breakdowns while getting that fucking masters done. PS. Brett interviewed the Worker's Front of Ukraine who referred to this war as the preamble to WWIII (I dunno about that but it's what they said)

I'm an independent contractor myself and it's definitely a grind but I tell myself it's worth it because I get to keep my dignity in a sense. Then again, I don't have medical insurance or paid time off and I often work long hours. But I also often don't work long hours.

2023-01-31 02:57:30 +0000 UTCI think the "Stalin discourse" got started initially recently, at least on Twitter, cuz the streamer Keffals decided to start some beef with the other streamer BadEmpanada and in it she discussed a video he did critiquing Stalin but said it was pro Stalin and that he was bad because he was cool with Stalin's ethnic deportations. Then MLs on Twitter talked about it and non-MLs critiqyed them and it spiralled very quickly outwards from there to suddenly before you know what's happening everybody is relitigating Stalin's crimes or not crimes. It's stupid and it's all because of some stupid streamer beef leaving their original circles. It's super dumb. Even dumber still both people in the original beef dislike Stalin's actions which are being discussed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
