Not cancer but my eldest daughter was born without a thyroid - not sure if it was covered but it’s pretty critical for brain development in the first few years too (and then obviously other things when you get older). It was quite intense and scary for the first few months - could do without multiple memories of physically pinning my daughter to get various blood tests during lots of doctor visits for the first few years. Life long meds but it quickly became normal to the point where she can tell the different dosage size by the taste.
